Today I’m going to uncover another Ukrainian service “SameDayEssay.com” aka samedayessay.org aka samedayessays.org and dozens-of-other-same-day-essays. Not all of them belongs to one company! In academic writing niche you may witness the phenomenon of brand-stealing.
Brand-stealing – is when one company or person is trying to steal users/visitors from another company, by ranking in search engine results positions or buying Ads on that company’s brand-name and redirecting users to another but similar from brand site.
In essay writing niche one may face it quite often due to several reasons:
- it is bloody hell difficult to get a trademark for your site and to prove in court your proprietary rights for it. That leads to brand-stealing, when the thief knows he won’t be seized.
- even if you’ve got a trademark, it takes time to stop other site stealing your visitors. Sometimes even years!
- Google from time to time bans essay writing sites, as a result, you won’t find the original site by googling its brand. So nature abhors a vacuum.
- it’s a routine practice for the market. Some essay writing services are dishonest and usually use other sources’ content. So why would they avoid brand-stealing?
Talking about stealing other site’s content, let’s check the case in point. Several days ago site samedayessay.com got banned from Google by using other person’s photo and claiming it to be their “writing expert”.
DESCRIPTION The photograph of our honorable President and CEO of BMW Manufacturing Co. Herr Knudt Flor was stolen and illegally posted violating the copyright of the site. All rights to graphic and text content belong to the BMWGroup company. The photo was placed on bmwgroup.com websites in 06/2017. The violators made redesign of their site samedayessay.com in 12/2019 and placed illegal material without permission.
ORIGINAL URLS: www.press.bmwgroup.com – 1 URL
ALLEGEDLY INFRINGING URLS: samedayessay.com – 1 URL
Would you accredit someone to write 100% original content, who uses plagiarism on their site? I don’t think so.
Who are those smartass?
If you check active domains containing SameDayEssay word you will find 27 related domains.
And 12 more that have already expired but were in use.
FIRST CONCLUSION: you have to be extremely careful when buying some sort of essay services to be sure that you’ve landed to a right place! How to make sure that you’ve made a right choice? It requires time and efforts to make a little investigation. The easiest way is to go to review services, to find one where the service answers users’ feedback (as only authorized services may answer on behalf of the brand). And follow the link in that profile. For example, let’s visit SameDayEssays’s sitejabber account.
Note that there’s a line in the bottom that says: ” This company responds to reviews on average within 2 days”. It means that there is an official representative registered. And scrolling down you’ll find the example of an answer:
It’s a good sign if the company doesn’t disregard negative reviews. It means that the service values its reputation hygiene.
In example above the profile link goes to samedayessay.com. All the other brand-sites may occur to be blatant brand-stealing. Be careful.
Let’s check what essayscam knows about these guys:
According to this screenshot these guys work in market since 2014, and that’s definitely good. But their methods are unethical, and that’s definitely scaring. I won’t give you an advice, it’s up to you whether to trust them or not. I’v made my own conclusions.
